Interested In Becoming A Friar?

We love getting emails with questions about our way of life. Click here to send us an email or email us at vocations@capuchinfriars.org.au

We give thanks to God that in recent years we have been blessed with vocations. We have just had two ordinations to the priesthood and currently have eleven students at different levels of formation. There are some points that may indicate the possibility that you may have a vocation:

    * You are a young man who loves God and the teachings and values of the Catholic Church

    * You have a desire to serve God and His people

    * You are single, reasonably healthy and living a celibate life

Trying to discern a call to the priesthood or religious life takes time and prayer and it's hard to do on your own. If you are attracted to the idea of being a Capuchin priest or brother then contact us and together we can try to discover what God is saying to you. To find out more about the Capuchin vocation, please e-mail us at vocations@capuchinfriars.org.au (If you do not live in Australia, then contact your local Capuchins; they should be in the phone book. If you have difficulty locating them then e-mail us and we will endeavour to help you.)

We encourage anyone discerning a call to priesthood and religious life to peruse the different areas of this website, particularly who we are and what we do. This will give you some basic information about our Capuchin vocation and the lives of some inspirational friars such as St Francis of Assisi or St Padre Pio. But even more importantly, we encourage you to make contact and meet the friars because this is the best way to explore and discern our way of life - for it is hard for God to call you to a way of life that you know little about!
