Fr Luan Visits Public School in Tibar

This is the Year 6 class eating their lunch which consists of a bowl of rice and vegetables. The class has over 70 students. The whole school has over 480 students but there are only 5 rooms for classes.
Because of the lack of space the school has to have two separate sessions - morning and afternoon. The first one goes from 8am - 12pm and the second goes from 1pm - 5pm.
The rooms are very run down. They are very cramped and lack many of the facilities we take for granted in Australia. For example, there is no library and not enough text books for all the students. Six to eight students share one book. There are no computers, no television, no sporting equipment, and not enough space for the children to play.

Some of the Year 1 and 2 students.
